SPRK Commando Interface will sunset on 5 December 2024

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Dear valued partners,

please be advised that Accelya will sunset the Commando user interface on 5 December 2024. The product will no longer be available after this date.

Accelya is sunsetting Commando because it is a legacy product that cannot support many of the critical elements of an NDC sales platform.

For those unfamiliar with Commando, it is an XML-based user interface that emulates GDS commands. It is integrated with Sprk - Accelya's agency platform.

Partners currently using Commando are invited to migrate to Sprk GUI, the alternative solution. All agencies will be able to access Sprk using their existing Commando credentials. An overview of how to use Sprk can be found in the LHG Sprk User Guide.

As part of the transition plan, the Commando interface will also display the following message to all users by 16 October 2024 at the latest:

"Please be advised that the Commando Interface will be sunsetting on 5 December 2024".

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued partnership.

Increased Security Measures for Departures ex India:
2D barcode required to enter terminal building

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Dear valued partners

we have been informed by the Indian authorities about increased security measures for departures from India. For internationaldepartures ex India as of August 2024, it will be required to present an (electronic or printed) ticketor boarding pass with a 2D barcode to enter any terminal building in India.
Consequently, a passenger who neither has a ticket nor a boarding pass with such a barcode will not be allowed to go inside the airport’s facilities and cannot travel. This regulation applies to all air carriers serving India. Please find attached more details.

At Lufthansa Group we are currently deploying such a barcode onto our LHG digital boarding passes and in a next step we will include them in all relevant travel documents like an electronic ticket printout as well.
Furthermore, we are investigating how we can implement such a barcode in relevant NDC / Baseline API responses and printouts from SPRK. However, we have not implemented any concrete solution yet and we will inform you as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we kindly ask you to:

  1. Check if you or your travel agent partners issue travel documents that comply with this new regulation (see attached)
    Or
  2. Inform your passengers that have booked a relevant ticket (as of August 2024 ex India) that they must check-in online before via Lufthansa.com, SWISS.com or Austrian.com and receive a digital or printed boarding pass with barcode.

Until we have the barcode implemented on all travel documents, we will add the following message to our pre-flight email for all concerned passengers.

Your departure from India
Passengers departing from India require a boarding pass with a barcode to enter the
terminal building. Please use our online check-in to obtain your digital boarding pass with
barcode.

You may use the following text as a template for your own information to passengers:
Please use the corresponding airline check-in website to obtain your digital boarding pass with barcode.”

Thank you very much for your collaboration. Should you have any question or concern,
feel free to contact your dedicated Lufthansa Group Contact.
